Meet Nanny Nancy

Hello, potential families! 👋🏼

Thank-you for taking the time to read a little bit about me... I have been working with children for over 35 years (babysitting, Sunday school teaching, etc.) and I ran a small day care business in my home when my own children were very young. I am American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certified, DOJ (Dept. Of Justice) fingerprinted, and a certified Holistic Infant Massage Instructor. I am also current on my TDap and COVID-19 vaccines.💉

I have raised 3 children myself and have three amazing grandsons. Ages 20, 8yo & 4yo.

I believe in hands-on, fun, compassionate, child-led caregiving. My philosophy as a nanny is to ensure the safety and nurturing of the children in my care, while helping them grow and develop with challenging, age appropriate activities. I work with newborns through young teens and I especially enjoy infants and toddlers. I am a Pediatric Sleep Consultant (teaching your child to sleep independently from 4 mos of age) as well as a huge proponent of baby-led weaning, infant sign language and play-based, child-led learning. I like to inspire and nurture creative play, Music, reading, silliness, crafts, and outdoor activities (including swimming) daily. 🏊🏼‍♀️💦

​I subscribe to the Love and Logic Approach, RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers), the Montessori philosophy, Positive Discipline, and the Emergent Curriculum of learning and Education. The Reggio Emilia Approach (Emergent Curriculum) views children as being capable, competent and intellectual citizens deserving the same respect we ask of them. Engaging the whole child (a Holistic Approach) within an intentional environment. Inquisitive minds are developed through authentic, experiential learning and provide the foundation to become life-long learners, responsible citizens, self-aware individuals and effective communicators.📚

I enjoy preparing nutritious, healthy & organic meals, light housekeeping (dishes, laundry, vacuuming, organizing, etc.), pet care and responsibilities relating to household management. I have a dependable 2019 Nissan Altima equipped with a 2025 Britax convertible car seat and booster seat.

​Lastly, I am currently working toward my advanced degree in early childhood education. ✅
